Oklahoma United Methodist Disaster Response

One of the Oklahoma United Methodist Conference, Office of Mission ministries, is Disaster Response (OKUMC-DR). This ministry focuses on four aspects of a disaster; Preparation, Response, Recovery and Mitigation.

OKUMC-DR works in cooperation with other faith-based organizations as well as humanitarian and governmental agencies.  OKUMC-DR is a part of the Oklahoma VOAD and National VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster).  These relationships are vital in bringing resources and the community together.

The United Methodist Church serves globally through UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) a ministry of the General Board of Global Ministries. A not-for-profit international humanitarian aid organization active in many parts of the world bringing hope, providing relief from hunger and disasters, and teaching peace.

Oklahoma Conference of The United Methodist Church

The Oklahoma Conference is the local churches in Oklahoma's primary link in the greater church's connectional structure. The Oklahoma conference is comprised of 480 churches across the state.
